Abesha grew up all around Seattle and is passionate about fostering community and centering those at the margins. She has dedicated her life and career towards the collective wellbeing and liberation of BIPOC communities in Seattle.

She has vast work experience ranging from education, nonprofit and public sector. Most recently Abesha worked to advance community led equitable development policy with the Equitable Development Initiative at the City of Seattle.

Abesha believes the solutions for systemic change must come from those who are impacted by systemic harm. Aside from her work, Abesha is an artist at heart and loves documenting life through photography.
