The Cultural Space Agency is currently hiring! We are looking to fill the position of Beyond BASE Analyst/Navigator
Background
The Cultural Space Agency is propelled by a diverse group of specialists and community stakeholders, collectively known as The Constituency. This group, consisting of architects, property developers, community organizers, artists, philanthropists, elected officials, commercial lenders, attorneys, academics, and nonprofit directors, has been instrumental in guiding the development of cultural spaces. Constituency members are graduates of the Build Art Space Equitably (B.A.S.E.) program, a certification program that explores a curriculum centered on the intersection of commercial real estate, community development, and the arts.
With increasing demands for arts and culture spaces, there's a pressing need for the expertise The Constituency offers.
To bridge this gap, the CSA has created Beyond BASE: a new initiative supported by the Paul G. Allen Family Foundation and the City of Seattle. This program pairs the seasoned wisdom of The Constituency with the vibrant energy of community-based cultural organizations embarking on their first significant cultural space projects. This program will be piloted for the next three years pairing Advisors from the Constituency with community partners for capacity building towards their cultural real estate goals.
The Role
The Analyst / Navigator will play a pivotal role in fostering relationships with both the community partner organizations receiving capacity building and coaching and the Advisors themselves. This position reports to the Co-Directors of Beyond BASE who, in turn, report to the Executive Director.
Drawing inspiration from the concept of a "case manager" in the realm of social services, the Analyst / Navigator’s primary responsibilities will include being a liaison to community partners and Advisors, identifying areas of need, collaborating in goal setting, strategizing and prioritizing capacity building to address needs, and actively engaging in community events.
This multifaceted role ensures a cohesive and effective execution of the Beyond BASE program, while also collaborating with the Co-Directors of Beyond BASE to make adjustments and refine program implementation. This role will require occasional nights and weekend work and ability to travel to sites throughout Seattle and King County.
This position is currently grant-funded through the end of 2026. The Beyond BASE program is a priority for the organization and we are working to secure additional funding to sustain the program and this role beyond the grant period.
